About Weston Presidio
Weston Presidio was an American private equity firm focused on providing growth capital to later-stage companies across the United States. The firm committed $10 million to $50 million of equity per transaction in companies operating across consumer products and services, business services, manufacturing and industrial, media and publishing, healthcare, and technology sectors. Transaction types included growth equity financings, management-led buyouts, and recapitalizations, with the firm generally preferring to act as lead investor while also considering select non-control minority positions. Weston Presidio raised approximately $3.21 billion in committed capital across five funds since inception, with its fifth and final fund, raised in 2005, closing at approximately $1 billion and focused primarily on investments in more mature companies. The firm's geographic focus spanned the eastern, midwestern, southern, and western United States. Weston Presidio suspended active fundraising and effectively began winding down its operations in 2014, with no new funds raised since that time. Founded in 1991 by Michael Cronin and Michael Lazarus, the firm was headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, with additional offices in San Francisco and Menlo Park, California.
