About Tandon Corp.
Tandon Corporation was an American disk drive and personal computer manufacturer, founded in 1975 by Sirjang Lal Tandon. It pioneered the double-sided, double-density floppy disk drive and became the world's largest independent producer of floppy disk drives for personal computers, serving as the exclusive floppy drive supplier for the original IBM PC. The company later expanded into hard disk drives and PC manufacturing before selling its core storage business to Western Digital in 1988. Tandon Corporation was founded in 1975 and headquartered in Chatsworth (later Moorpark), California.
